Christmas Inheritance is a Netflix Original Movie that stars Eliza Taylor, Jake Lacy, and Andie MacDowell. The story is based on Eliza Taylor as Ellen Langford, heiress to one of the biggest gifting companies in NYC. The plotline revolves around her need to make more of her life while also struggling with a suppressed childhood loss. And all this, while trying to prove to herself and her father that she can keep up with family traditions and look after herself, independently.
‘ Christmas Inheritance ‘ is a perfect holiday season watch. The Christmas Carols, the angst and the romance make it a good movie to watch with your family on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Can’t say for sure if it’s a tear jerker, but it definitely had its moments. If you’re a softie, I’d recommend a couple of tissues.

Eliza Taylor, CW’s ‘The 100‘ star, plays a damsel in distress for most of the movie, given that her character is a spoilt rich child living off her father’s inheritance. It is Christmas themed, so if you’re watching it at any other time of the year you may not necessarily appreciate all the fluff.
Overall, while the start of the movie moved too quickly for me to enjoy it, the middle and end played out at a decent pace. Although I did know at every moment what would happen next, I did enjoy the movie. It works as a great reminder about what the season of Christmas really is and sheds light on the act of giving and charity throughout its screen time.
